Winter Critter Stuffies

Cloth Paper Scissors had a contest to create various critters for the fall/winter season. This gave me a reason to CREATE! CREATE! CREATE! and SEW! SEW! SEW!
Here are my creations:
Nora Claus (named after a Menorah and Ms. Claus)

Diva Angel Snow (she's a snow angel diva, of course)

Happy Hattie (a smiling hat)

Happy Holidays!!

Assignment #1: Write Your Goals & Values

JessicaSprague.com is having a special Holiday class titled "Holidays In Hands" and I've signed up!!! Nothing like adding more To-Do's to December's checklist...but this is suppose to declutter my month, so I'm ready...plus it's a great way to get my blog started.

The first assignment is to write down our goals and values we want to achieve by taking this class. Here is my list (short n' sweet):

1) Learn to enjoy (and I mean ENJOY) the holidays versus stating "My, where did the time fly".

2) Truly invest time and learn about my family members and my ancestry. I know very little about even how my parents met and got engaged, etc. I'm excited to learn all about it & take notes.

Assignment #2 is to commit 20 minutes a day to this project - CHECK!

Assignment #3 is to get organize...working on that one. She did share a great tool to use from Organized Christmas at christmas.organizedhome.com/printable/christmas-planner

(and hopefully we can squeeze falling in love into the mix)

"IT'S A NEW DAY!!!"

I have had Will.I.Am's song running through my head all day today. What a change in the air! What a change in America! I feel a sense of empowerment because of the enthusiasm of Americans all around. It's a refreshing change.

After seeing Oprah's show and the pledges people were making, I decided to pledge to enjoy life more each day and look for the simple pleasures...I pledge to do what I can to make this world a better place!! This pledge consist of not complaining about unnecessary things and dedicating my time to helping find a cure for childhood cancer as well as finding a meaningful career that I find fulfillment in.

Aside from all the happenings of today's Inauguration, it "snowed" in Charlotte. As usual, the panic set in and businesses closed early. Yet, I had the enjoyment of watching my lil guy Barkley enjoy snow for the first time. A little uneasy at first as to why the ground looked white, but then he decided ...why not taste it...as he does everything unknown. And so he did and he continued to lick the edge of the patio while eating up the snow.

This is also the start of my Day 1 of my Project 365...which is listed at http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/ (basically a project where photos are taken daily and memories are captured.

Have a great day!!!
